Project ESCAPE

Comenius project - Escape in the school year 2009/2010

Next year of joint project with St. Hedwig Secondary School in Rybnik (Poland) and 13th Lycee in Patras (Greece) is over and it's time for a brief look back. After six months working on project tasks and processing of presentations followed by exchanges in all participating countries - in April in Greece and Czech Republic and at the end of April and May in Poland. These exchanges were focused on sports activities for learning about culture and history but also to make the students familiar with the everyday life of their foreign friends. Among the memorable experiences included a visit to Greece Olympia and Delphi, and Wieliczka, Krakow in Poland and Prague. At the workshops we danced Greek dances, sang, produced dolls and t-shirts. His forces were measured in orienteering, non-traditional Olympic Games and marathon.

A big thank to parents of project participants for the care of foreign students for help with transportation to Poland as well as promotional items donated by students.

Our school has drafted a new project called the DOORS TO EUROPE and in February filed an application for a grant in the Comenius project. In addition to St. Hedwig Secondary School in Rybnik is involved in this project from the Dutch College of Vugh. If we can get a grant, we will be able to continue cooperation and exchanges with schools abroad in the next two school years.

Students from Poland and Greece visited our school

5th to 10th March 2009 we welcomed our school students from our partner schools with which we cooperate on a joint project ESCAPE. We competed in running, playing volleyball, football, participated in workshops, where we sang, drew, tried a team game and also put together an international vocabulary, playing Scrabble and Gomoku. All definitely liked Mamma Mia musical, which prepared students of second grade, and performance of young gymnasts. The joint trip we get to know city and its environs, as well as sights of Prague. At the castle we listen to music and dance and we danced at a disco. Now we are looking forward to Greece and Poland, to meet again with our friends.
