Project Synopsis

Notably, the high absenteeism in the education addressing the project We are not others. The aim is to improve teaching and introducing new forms of modern education in general education courses for our students, whose greatest challenge is to balance a demanding sport training with high standards of secondary school education sector. The sports secondary school students focusing their attention mainly on sports scores, are commonly regarded as a bit 'different' secondary school. The myth we would like to rebut, because we're not the others! We want our students have the opportunity to stand on the same starting line for admission to college.

The objectives of the project by creating a form of education that addresses the huge shortfalls in education and will be accessible to pupils in preparing sport outside of school. Project will result in innovation in general education courses. The project outputs are primarily focused on sports school students, then teachers at the school. Activities will be implemented by staff.

Target group

The target group is students and teachers of secondary school applicants. Leadership has long focused on increasing the quality of schools in this field for 25 years. After defending the existence of schools in the optimization of schools in the Ostrava region in 1997 stood the school and the comprehensive review of educational and technical process in the school year 1998/99. Czech School Inspectorate evaluated the results of the school very positively. In 2001 the school moved, like most other secondary schools for a new founder, for our school became the Moravian Silesian Region.

The benefits of the project is beneficial especially for secondary school students and teachers of this school. The project outputs will be used to monitor the development of quality schools, the proposed specific measures for quality improvement introduced new forms of school education. Project will create a school that:

  • will proactively focused on student
  • will have created a high standard of education
  • will improve the educational conditions to improve the educational process, improve educational outcomes of students
  • will provide active support to pupils from the school
  • will improve school management, staff quality of work, quality of further education teachers
  • will improve the level of work done in schools, especially given the conditions of education and economic resources

Interest in participating school teachers has been identified in the preparatory phase of the project. School pupils are the beneficiaries of project outputs as part of compulsory education. Their findings show an interest in the annual school report.

Project Goals

The project is the implementation of new forms of teaching in selected general education courses with an emphasis on ICT technology for students of sports secondary school. The project has been trying to maintain regular tuition for students who due to their responsibilities can not participate in sports standard of teaching and schools for disabled pupils. We also want more popular and accessible form (the use of didactic and computer equipment) to implement innovative new features to the teaching of selected general education courses (teaching native and foreign languages, Biology, History, Physics, Chemistry, Informatics, Mathematics, Theory of sports training, SES and so on). The project is based on identified needs: we want to mitigate the identified weaknesses and further improve the positives that were identified during the five academic years in our school.

The project will be implemented in successive steps:

  • creation of new teaching methods, the introduction of ICT in education (creating a web application)
  • creating and introducing new innovative materials in 14 general education courses
  • creating rules using the new forms of teaching
  • ongoing evaluation and implementation in education (A detailed description is elaborated in the project activities)

The project will:

  • creativity and innovation in general education courses in 1914 (an interactive learning materials)
  • greater use of computer technology in selected general education courses
  • improving conditions for the use of ICT for pupils and teachers, and even outside the classroom
  • regular testing of students using e-learning
  • improving the computer literacy of students and school teachers

The project will be 32 months. The output of the project will implement new forms of teaching, which will be applied both within the standard of teaching, and out of school in selected general education courses. Using this new form of training will be conducted according to approved rules. Innovation project is their capability to meet the regular degree requirements, which students had to postpone our school because of sports training.
