Sports Secondary School of Dana and Emil Zatopek Ostrava

Sports Secondary School of Dana and Emil Zatopek Ostrava is part of the care of talented youth. It belongs to the system of special sports schools in the major regions of the Czech Republic. This type of school is also in Ostrava, in Jablonec nad Nisou, Jilemnice, Brno, Prague, Kladno, Ceske Budejovice, Plzen, Pardubice, Zlin and in Vrbno pod Pradedem and Most.

From 1st January 2004 Sports Secondary School Ostrava carries the honorary title Sports Secondary School of Dana and Emil Zatopek Ostrava. An honorary title of school was awarded with the consent of Mrs. Dana Zatopkova and Ministry of Education and Sport based on the excellent long-term sporting results of school students (bronze Olympic medalists Jaroslav Baba and Rostislav Olesz).

The main task of schools is a joint responsibility for preparation for higher education with the development of sports talent. It is therefore difficult to reconcile with the effective teaching of grammar training.
